Ronaldo set to return to face Goias

RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Fully recovered from a left hand surgery, Corinthians star striker Ronaldo declared on Friday that he is ready to play.

Corinthians' next match will be against one of the surprise teams of this year's Brazilian Championship, Goias. The game is scheduled for Sunday, September 20.

Ronaldo has not played since July 26. Visibly out of competing shape, the striker believes that he is ready to return to the starting line-up.

"I am not in the same shape I was before I got injured. However, my conditioning will return with time. I am not timid at all about my return. The latest x-ray I took showed that my hand fracture has fully recovered," declared Ronaldo.

Head coach Mano Menezes is thrilled to have his striker and leading scorer back. He is not sure if Ronaldo will stay in the game for the whole 90 minutes, but gave signs that the striker will reenter the starting squad.
